Building a Commercial Fresh Pineapple Export Industry in Fiji

The study aims to capture a comprehensive picture of Fiji’s existing pineapple farming systems, with a particular focus on the supply of fresh, whole pineapples for the New Zealand supermarket trade. 

It is designed to support national efforts to build a commercially viable, export-oriented pineapple value chain that delivers inclusive economic benefits – especially for smallholder farmers, women, and youth – while addressing infrastructure, regulatory, and market challenges.
